Attention
ALL DHYS Managers and Coaches!!
Please fill out a BACKGROUND

and return it to Rob Friedman, VP of Planning, or your League Director.

Recycling
at Medlock Park
DeKalb Parks
and Rec does not have a recycling program. DHYS is asking Team Parents
to help in any way they can to recycle the many plastic bottles.
Here are some suggestions:
Bring a reusable bottle from home and don't forget to take
it back with you!
Use a community GatorAde / water jug with reusable plastic
cups. Each player can be responsible for their own cup. Bringing
the team jug can be shared through the Snack Schedule.
Please ask the parent on point for snacks to bring a recycling
trash bag or bin from home. This can then go out with their regular
recycling pickup.
We also encourage any Scouts to consider helping DHYS develop a
Recycling Program.

DHYS
Offers FREE Clinics for Coaches and Players
DHYS
is pleased to announce that we will be offering free clinics for
coaches and players of all leagues featuring Coach Bill Melvin.
Check the Home Page for more information and the latest schedule.
Safety
Reminder for DHYS Parents
Parents
at all levels are reminded that by DHYS rules no one is allowed
on the playing field or in foul territory (inside the fences) except
participating players, coaches and umpires.
Last season
the were a number of incidents involving parents venturing onto
the field and in foul territory to take pictures. This creates
not only a distraction to the players and officials, but a safety
risk and liability issue as well.
Thanks for
your cooperation in making DHYS Baseball at Medlock Park a safe
and enjoyable experience.
DHYS
Installs 2 Portable Defibrillators
DHYS has installed
2 Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) that are posted in strategic
locations at Medlock Park.
One of these units was donated and the second was purchased to ensure
maximum coverage within the park.
A unit is located in the equipment shed between Fields 2 and 3 and
the second is inside the DHYS clubhouse.
These state-of-the-art devices can make a dramatic difference in
response time in the event of a cardiac arrest.
The devices are locked for security, but managers, coaches and Board
Members have the code to the lockboxes and can access them.
Team parents will be shown these devices at the Team Parent Meetings
scheduled in March (see above).
If you have questions related to these devices, email Peg
Bumgardner.
Team
parents can visit this link
for an online demo.
