DHYS Tournament Team Overview
For
recreational team players interested in a more competitive level of
baseball, DHYS offers tournament teams for those players who best represent
their leagues in terms of playing ability and sportsmanship.
Tournament activities create an exciting and rewarding time for players,
coaches and parents. However, everyone should be aware of the commitment
before agreeing to participate.
Tournament games (usually located in the metro Atlanta area)
can begin as early as Memorial Day and continue through the Fourth of
July weekend, with practices scheduled throughout the week and weekends.
Success in a tournament can lead to an invitation to play in state and
out-of-state tournaments, usually held in mid- or late July.
Selection Process. Players interested in tournament teams must
submit the form below by no later than April 30th to the DHYS Director
of Tournaments (see address below). In early May, league managers will
meet to vote on tournament team players. Practices will begin soon after
selection.
Fees. After selection to a tournament team, each participant
can expect to pay fees in the range of $200, depending on the number
of tournaments being played. This cost includes jersey, pants, cap,
as well as tournament fees (does not include travel expenses).
